Nuts

My favourite nut used to be the pistachio nut. However, there's something about the texture and taste of the cashew that has knocked the pistachio off it's glorious shelled greeness pedestal..and I..just..can't..stop..eating..them once I start. ANYWAY, considering how much I like the nut, I am utterly shocked how little I know about them. They grow on trees looking like this:



I had no idea!! I thought someone had posted a humorous depiction of male genitalia, but no they actually grow like that! You think you've seen everything, and then you come across a whole new nut/fruit combo that you've never imagined before! And it's not just that, we are so used to buying our food packaged, off a supermarket shelf, that we have no idea what it actually looks like or where it comes from.
